This reddit post fixed this issue for me.

I had tried predi's answer and yes, it did brick my internet. However, when my internet was down, I searched up and down for a solution to fix my internet back up and came across a Reddit post that fixed my internet problems AND my wsl connection issues. Hope this helps!
