For anyone who stumbles here, redshift now has snapshot isolation and that’s the default for any new instances. Switching to it should alleviate issues, but I stumbled here cause a simple incremental refresh was locking selecting from the mat view and I’m trying to figure out why, even with snapshot isolation.
