I encountered the same problem when I used the old computer at my house to connect my company's server with Remote-SSH.

Zac's solution about switching the Jupyter extension version solved the problem! The only difference is I switched "from" the pre-release to the release version.

Thus I suspect the real trick is to reinstall the Jupyter extension.
