I am using <img src="https://drive.google.com/thumbnail?sz=w1920&id=<image id>" alt="Logo" /> and it's working very well. Just a quick suggestion: for the image file to display properly on the HTML page, make sure the file in Google Drive is set to "Share with anyone with the link" in the sharing options.
