Okay, I feel rather annoyed at the solution to this, but somehow the files displaying the images I wanted to display were put in a file that was located directly under the source code file, it had not previously done this. And, I think, I was creating files of the same name, which weren't being influenced by the code, and opening those files instead of the ones I wanted. This lead me in the complete wrong direction as to where the problem was.

Thanks to everyone who helped! And I'm glad those who said that it was outputting somewhere were right, regardless of how ridiculous it makes me feel.

To reiterate: Make sure you know where your files are! Especially what files your code is ouputting to. I found the files I needed right next to the source code's file. Even if you think you know where they're going, double check.
