Just sharing my frustation with this requirement for having Microsoft account. I was invited to join Azure DevOps for a project, I created a new Microsoft account as required, I do not want to use my existing microsoft account since it is for personal use. Then the new account got locked. I created 3 new Microsoft account, all got locked for suspicious activity.

To unlock you must have phone number in supported country. even with that still cannot unlock the microsoft account.
