This may not be a perfect answer, but I've had some luck in restarting all my extensions. I'm on Visual Studio Code v1.98.2 and Windows 11 with multiple .venv-enabled projects present in my multi-root workspace.

It seems like it's a bug with the extension ms-python.python, but I have no proof other than that restarting all the extensions fixed the problem.
