The best thing is always to test things - and this one is pretty simple with the VS Code extensions.

I created a bucket, uploaded a file, translated it and then displayed the model in two instances of VS Code:

Once I deleted the bucket the derivatives (e.g. SVF2) were still available for the file that was originally in it (just like it is pointed out here):

But the file itself is not accessible anymore:
