Faced the same problem. This 1:12 YouTube video helped!

Search for Services in the start menu search box.

Search for your MySQL application, like MYSQL80.

Right click and select Properties.

Look for the Search Status.

If its Stopped, then click on Start.

Now MySQL application is running. It doesn't ask me for a password, but connects!
