This is terribly embarrassing. I was looking at the diff-view in Visual Studio not in the actual file.

What ReSharper did was only adding an empty line, and that was it in the whole file. And Visual Studios way of letting you know of an addition in diff-view is by showing a plus-sign in the margin. Therefore it looked as if a plus-sign were added.
